Hello there! My name is Basil Ajith.
I am a former lawyer turned computer programmer.
This blog is where I will write about my faith in Jesus Christ; my wife Alfia and our son Ezra, my life in general, journey in the IT industry, random experiments I do with programming, some of my projects, tutorials, hardware, and everything else related to IT that I am interested in, and a bit about movies, music, the Law, laws, the legal profession, history, and politics.
That’s a lot of stuff bundled together. So, the title “undefined” would better fit as this blog’s title. It is also a play on the programming data type found in the JavaScript programming language. It is funny if people think there’s some kind of bug in the front-end code and the name of the blog is not being displayed.
I was a practising advocate in India till early 2021. I was able to switch to a career in IT that year with a tech-empowered non-profit working in the social development sector (I am still working there). Before that I was a computing hobbyist trying my hand at developing small scripts/programmes. I am also a Linux enthusiast.
I currently work with the non-profit as a DevOps engineer. I had constantly been hopping between a lot of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C, Go, and Nim. However, I now settled on Python as my main language for now.
My desire as an IT enthusiast is to create my own programming language one day. I have named it already (not a difficult thing to do): Radix.
