A Simple Tip For Simplifying Complex Concepts

Try defining a concept using a single word or phrase. This will help you understand the concept more deeply. Try to answer the question “what is it?” yourself. However, use only a single word or phrase in the answer. This will make you understand the concept more clearly.

I credit the professor who taught Law of Evidence (the Indian Evidence Act, 1872 at that time) at my law college for this tip. He had passed away recently, and when I heard the news, I remembered this tip.

During one class, he was teaching us “admission” under the Act. He mentioned, that during a viva voce we may get asked to define what “admission” is, using a single word. And he quoted the definition of “admission” from the Act,

“An admission is a statement, oral or documentary or contained in electronic form, which suggests any inference as to any fact in issue or relevant fact, and which is made by any of the persons, and under the circumstances, hereinafter mentioned.”

Then, he pointed out, “So, admission, in a single word, is a statement“. This tip has helped me simplify a lot of complex concepts, both in law and computer science. May it help you too!
